Hello all, my question is in regard to how Medicare clawbacks actually work. In the event of a claw back, what are the provider and the manufacturer liable for? In other words, is the provider responsible to pay 100% of what was reimbursed from Medicare, or are they only responsible for the portion that they kept and the manufacture is responsible for their portion. Obviously, documentation and proper practices are integral in making sure audits and clawbacks do not happen, however, are their any options that can further mitigate that audits and clawbacks do not happen?

I'm glad that you are asking this question! I wonder is that something that may keep a provider from the onboarding process. Maybe you can ask Alisha in the Monday Q&A? I'm sure using allinwon (did I spell that correctly?) will help prevent that.
